Starting tonight, the next few weeks will be filled with local shopping and fashion events! Clear your calendar for these:

Celebrate fashion and art at two events tonight: Super Thursday: In Full Bloom and RAW Baltimore Presents: Spectrum

In Full Bloom, held at The Walter’s Art Museum will feature a fashion show hosted by local fashion expert Lana Rae, founder and producer at Fashion Awards MD and owner and manager of KIS Agency. The runway, beginning around 7 p.m., will showcase looks from DC-based designers, Afua Sam of STUDIO D’MAXSI and Ean Williams of Corjor International, as well as more experimental fashions and costume designs from Naomi Davidoff.

But before the show begins, enjoy Designed for Flowers: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics, an exhibition featuring vases and celebrating some of the greatest Japanese ceramic artists. This exhibition is open to the public until May 11. Get a sneak peak here.

This event is free and open to the public.

When: Thursday, April 3 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Where: The Walter’s Art Museum, 600 N. Charles St.


Continue your night at The Creative Alliance for Raw Baltimore Presents: Spectrum. The event will feature local artists specializing in fashion and accessories design, film, hair styling, music, photography, visual and performing arts, and more.

Buy tickets in advance for just $15 or at the door for $20. You must be 18 or older to attend.

This Saturday, XIX: An Experimental Fashion Event will kick off this year’s MICA Fashion Week. The event will feature a runway show, fashion, costumes, puppetry and performing arts, showcasing the work of MICA students. Take a look at some pieces from this year’s collection.

Tickets are $7 at the MICA store (1200 W. Mt. Royal Ave. or online) and $10 at the door (but we suggest you don’t wait—these tickets are limited).

When: Saturday, April 5 at 6:30 and 8 p.m. 

Where: St. John’s Church, 2640 Saint Paul St.


The festivities continue next weekend with UNMARKED: Annual Benefit Fashion Show. The event will feature students’ one-of-a-kind pieces, constructed from unique materials, that will represent them as designers.

Proceeds will benefit the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Development, as well as students involved in diversity programs.

Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for non-students at the MICA store (1200 W. Mt. Royal Ave. or online). And again, limited tickets will be sold at the door.

When: Friday, April 11 at 9 p.m. for the MICA community only (prices differ), and next Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. for the general public

Where: Brown Center: Falvey Hall, 1301 W. Mount Royal Ave.


Next weekend, be sure to stop by the sixth annual Charm City Fashion Show at Federal Hill’s Mother’s Grille. As the name suggests, the night will feature a fashion show, but also, visual art, and live music.

You’ll find looks from local shops including Brightside BoutiqueChristopher Schafer ClothierDebois TextilesBabe. (a boutique)South Moon Under, 2live2love, Blanchard Designs, and Polina’s Privé Fine Lingerie.

General admission tickets are $35, runway seats are $45. Get yours here now or call the restaurant at 410-244-8686 to reserve a table (equipped with a complimentary bottle of champagne).

When: Saturday, April 12 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Where: Mother’s Grille, 1113 S. Charles St.


At the end of the month, enjoy two more fashion events, beginning with the first-ever Boulevard of Chic where you can shop all of your favorite local fashion trucks. This “Fashion Truck Rally” is free and open to the public, and some of the proceeds will benefit BARCS Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter.

That same day, in Harbor East, enjoy the third annual FashionEASTA event. Enjoy deals and discounts from the area’s participating stores, as well as live music, food, and drink!

Be sure to stick around until 3:30 for the FashionEASTA fashion show. Local celebrities will walk the catwalk in looks from Harbor East shops—which you can then buy!

Although the event is free to attend, you can reserve seats and VIP treatments (exclusive shopping bag, discounted drinks, and parking) here for $35. Some proceeds will benefit Dress to Success Baltimore, which will also welcome new and lightly used women’s business apparel at the event. With each donation, comes the chance to win a $500-value package of prizes!
