Mission BBQ Opening New Location in Columbia

The new spot is the restaurant's fifth location in Maryland.

Barbecue lovers rejoice. After opening new locations in Virginia and North Carolina, Mission BBQ is going back to its roots and opening up in Columbia.

The new location is set to open on July 14 and it will be the restaurants fifth location in Maryland, the state where it all began for Mission BBQ co-founders Bill Kraus and Steve Newton.

Customers in Columbia can now experience traditional Mission BBQ favorites, such as Texas-inspired beef brisket, jalapeño and cheese sausage, and the North Carolina pulled-pork sandwiches.

The grand opening on July 14 will include a live rendition of the National Anthem at noon followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony. Doors open immediately after the ceremony.

The new location in Columbia Crossing (6270 Columbia Crossing Circle) is the restaurant’s eighth location spanning four states. By 2018, Mission BBQ is hoping to have 40 restaurants open throughout the East Coast.
