Events Calendar Information

How do I get my event listed in the calendar section of your magazine?

In order to get your event listed in Baltimore magazine’s calendar section, you must send a press release to senior editor Lydia Woolever and  editorial assistant Grace Hebron. This can be done via email to [email protected].

What information should my press release include?

All press releases must include the following information:

  • Name of event
  • Date(s) of event
  • Time(s) of event
  • Location of event, including venue name and street address
  • Price(s)
  • Phone number AND/OR Website
  • Brief (2-3 sentence) description of event

Any press release that does not contain all of the above information will not be considered.

When should I send my press release? In order to make our print deadlines, we need to receive your press release at least two months ahead of time. For instance, if your event is in April, we need to receive the press release by February 1. For an event in May, we need to receive the press release by March 1, and so on.

Can you let me know if/when you’ve received my press release? Due to the volume of press releases we receive, it is not possible to reply to each sender about the status of his/her submission.

My event is early in the month. I’d like it listed in back-to-back issues of the magazine to maximize exposure. Can you do that? Because space is limited, we can only publish an event in the corresponding month’s edition. For instance, if your event is September 1, 2014, it will be listed only in the September edition of Baltimore magazine. Bear in mind, each issue comes out around the third week of the previous month. For instance, the September issue comes out in late August, the October issue comes out in late September, and so on. This means that even events happening at the beginning of the month will be exposed to readers ahead of time.

What if I want my event listed in print and online? If you’d like your event posted to our online events calendar, please submit it, here.

How can I guarantee my event gets listed? The short answer is, you can’t. Because of space and time fluctuations, your event may not be published either online or in print. Furthermore, Baltimore magazine reserves the right to reject events we deem unsuitable for our brand and readership. However, if the above guidelines are followed, we will make every effort to include your event in our print and/or online calendars.

Is there any fee involved? Baltimore magazine’s print and online calendars are reader services generated by the editorial staff. The magazine does not accept compensation for listings.
