Oh, hi there! My name is Amy Mulvihill. I am the assistant managing editor here at Baltimore and, this weekend, a guest blogger on All The Pieces Matter. The occasion? The Virgin Mobile Festival, of course. Yes, for the next two days I will be "blogging" (as the kids call it) from the heart of the action at Pimlico. Don't worry: John Lewis will be along for the ride, too, and between the two of us we will be bringing you the many expected highlights and scattered lowlights of the two-day extravaganza.
I went to Virgin Fest last year and despite the heat, humidity, and general unpleasantness that comes with standing in an infield crowded with thousands of strangers, am very excited to return this year. I love music. I love live concerts. I love sharing my (often insupportable) opinions about them. For instance, I am looking forward to seeing Wilco, Duffy, and Kanye West. I am decidedly not looking forward to seeing Jack Johnson and Nine Inch Nails, but to each their own! John has his own favorites, which, I'm sure, he will tell you about in his own, far more eloquent way, soon enough. And, of course, please feel free to share your thoughts as well.
