What piece of art changed your life? And how did it affect you?
When I was 14, my mother gave me a copy of the book Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk. It was such a love letter to New York City. It’s a very interesting story about the coming of age of a young woman and the choices she makes. It was a real eye opener, and it made me realize there were many paths to choose.
And Starlight Express was my first Broadway musical. It was the most amazing experience of my life, from the sound of the orchestra warming up and the crowd shuffling in to the sets and the actors and the music. I was five years old, and I couldn’t wait to see my next Broadway show.
