

What piece of art changed your life? How did it affect you?
I don't think there's one thing, because it's been a slow evolution, not a sudden change. Mostly, it's been my relationships with family and friends. And the Bible. I was raised in a Pentecostal family and did street ministry with my godparents and family. That gave me a code of ethics to go by.
It's also being a Baltimoron. There's something incredibly positive about being embraced in the environment where you live. Baltimore is definitely the place I'm meant to be, and it constantly affects my work.
