Last Sunday, Gospel Hill premiered at the Uptown Theater in D.C. The film—which stars Angela Bassett, Danny Glover, and Julia Stiles—was co-written and produced by locals Jeffrey Pratt Gordon and Jeff Stacy. Gordon played "Johnny Fifty" in Season Two of The Wire and has worked, as set dresser or prop master, on films such as Ladder 49 and A Dirty Shame. Gordon and Bassett are pictured above.
Gospel Hill won Best of Festival in the 2008 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. To the best of my knowledge, it hasn't screened locally. What do you say, Maryland Film Festival?
