Peabody's McGill Performs at Inauguration

Clarinetist and Peabody faculty member Anthony McGill (right) performed "Air and Simple Gifts" with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Itzhak Perlman, and pianist Gabriela Montero at the Obama inauguration on Tuesday. It was an evocative and memorable performance. I groaned when told that John Williams, known for scoring blockbuster films such as Star Wars, would be providing the music and arranging the piece. But I have to admit, he did a fine job.
