If you haven't checked out the Laure Drogoul retrospective (Follies, Predicaments, and Other Conundrums) at MICA, you have a few more days. It's a fascinating, whimsical, absurd, and sprawling show, one that speaks to the free-wheeling creative spirit that flourishes in this city. Over the past two decades, Drogoul has been an integral part of that scene. Her Fugue Chamber for Amnesiacs and Olfactory Factory make lasting impressions, like all of the work on display. In fact, my children still talk about spotting the huge devil head she installed on the lawn at Evergreen House. And that was five years ago! Hats off to Curator Gerald Ross for conceiving of and putting together such an ambitious and important show.
