Mob Marley?

Reading a New York Times book review over the weekend about a new Bob Marley bio, I was stunned when the reviewer offhandedly mentioned that "the mob boss Paul Castellano was about to underwrite Marley’s expansion into the American market when the singer died." What's that? Mob boss Paul Castellano, head of the Gambino crime family, was going to invest in Bob Marley? You mean that after all the alleged drug, prostitution, and extortion rackets, a mobster turns to reggae? The thought of Italian gangster, ganja/rasta, and record biz crews uniting behind Marley is downright surreal and could be a book in itself. Suggested title... Hit.
