Simon Wins MacArthur

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has announced that Wire/Treme creator David Simon is among 23 "genius" grant recipients this year. You might recall that the BSO's Marin Alsop won a MacArthur five years ago and used some of the $500,000 prize money to establish a music program, OrchKids, for city school children.
