Each year, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts bestows its National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education Award to five public schools from around the country. This year, two of the five schools receiving the award are in Baltimore! Roland Park Elementary/Middle School and Sudbrook Magnet Middle School (in Baltimore County) were cited for "providing high-quality opportunities for learning in and through the arts." Each school will receive $2,000 for arts education programs.
