Guess the College

Considering what it has scheduled for tomorrow, there’s a local school that would seem to be an arts and culture juggernaut. Check this out…

There’s a production of Carmina Burana scheduled for 3 pm.

At 2 pm and 8 pm, the theater department presents Elephant’s Graveyard, a play about when, in 1916, “a group of itinerant circus folk and the townspeople of Erwin, Tennessee clashed during a circus parade, leading to the only known lynching of an elephant in America.  The play combines historical fact and legend as it explores America's deep-seated craving for spectacle, violence, and revenge.”

Gerald Cleaver, the amazing jazz percussionist and composer, performs at 8:15 pm.

Dance recitals are set for 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

A lecture on “commercial space travel” happens at 10 am and noon.

A ceramic arts sale takes place from 9 am to 7 pm.

And there’s a choral society concert at 6 pm.

It sounds like some combination of Hopkins, Peabody, and MICA, but it’s all taking place at Towson University. No kidding. You could spend all day on campus, bouncing from one great event to the next. I just might.
