Shattered Wig Returns

Shattered Wig is back! The first Shattered Wig Review to hit the streets in over a year—publisher Rupert Wondolowski attributes the delay to “getting old and more existential”—figures to be one of the best issues yet, with spiffy cover art by former Baltimorean/hotshot graphic designer George McWillams (see above) and writing by Amelia Gray (her new book, Museum of the Weird, was recently reviewed in The New York Times), Michael Kimball, Stephanie Barber, Blaster Al Ackerman, Chris Toll, and many more.

To celebrate, Wondolowski will host a Shattered Wig Night this Friday, December 10th, at the legendary 14 Karat Cabaret (218 W. Saratoga Street). The evening’s festivities will include readings from poets R.M. O'Brien (curator of the WORMS reading series), Emily Peterson Crespo, and Ryan Walker, along with music by the Baltimore String Felons (described by Wondolowski as “fantastic timelessly weird old American folk music with a punk edge") and Nests Revealed, a new project featuring former members of Madagascar.

It’s a deal at five bucks. The party starts at 9 pm.
