Tonight’s opening of Current Gallery’s Self Portrait as Rock Star exhibition (curated by Gary Kachadourian) figures to be a great time. Comprised of people's self-portraits of themselves as rock stars, the event (lasting from 7-11 pm) includes, appropriately enough, karaoke. Also, Neil Feather brings his sculptural instruments to Waverly’s Red Room, Promised Land (comprised of jazz improv masters Myra Melford, Brandon Ross, and Stomu Takeishi) plays An die Musik at 8 and 9:30 pm, and Delicate Steve comes to the Ottobar, with Dustin Wong opening.
Tomorrow night, The Bridge celebrates the release of its new CD, National Bohemian, at Rams Head Live, and Lafayette Gilchrist and the New Volcanoes, with guitarist Carl Filipiak, play Windup Space.
