Broadway, Opera, and John Waters on Tap at Lyric

The Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric has announced its lineup for 2011-2012, and it's an intriguing mix. The Broadway shows include Spamalot, Rock of Ages, Come Fly Away, and Young Frankenstein; the Dance series features Alvin Ailey and the Moscow Ballet; the operas include La Traviata and Faust; and the likes of Tony Bennett, Lewis Black, and the Irish Tenors are also scheduled. A pair of holiday shows indicate the wide range of tastes being booked—Amy Grant's "12 Days of Christmas" is set for December 7th, and the John Waters Christmas show is pegged for the 21st.
