BSO Gets NEA Cash, Lots of It

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has awarded $100,000 to the BSO. Of the 1,145 NEA grants awarded this cycle, the BSO's was the largest in the music ctegory—Carnegie Hall and the San Francisco Symphony also received $100,000—and the funds will be used to support the BSO's upcoming tours and a few related education initiatives. The BSO West Coast tour, in March-April 2012, will be the orchestra's first visit to that part of the country since 1988.
