NEA Awards Our Town Grant to MICA

The National Endowment for the Arts has announced that MICA will receive a $150,000 grant from its inaugural round of "Our Town" funding. According to the NEA, the "Our Town" grants are awarded to organizations "that have created public-private partnerships to strengthen the arts while shaping the social, physical, and economic characters of their neighborhoods, towns, cities, and regions."

And MICA will use the funds "to support an initiative that will expand art and design programming, public art, and improvements to underutilized indoor and outdoor spaces in Baltimore's Station North Arts and Entertainment District. The project will culminate in a national symposium on the policy, economic development, and cultural impacts of arts & entertainment districts."
