What to Do? What to Do?

tubman memorial

If you're on your way to the beach, pull over in Cambridge for a minute and visit the new Harriet Tubman mural/memorial. As my colleage Jess Blumberg reported earlier this week, there's a state park honoring Tubman in the works, but you can check out this piece, done by Dorchester artist/educator Charles Ross, just past the turn off to Route 343. It's on the right, heading east.

If you're in Baltimore, there is, as usual, plenty to do. Tomorrow, Comic-Con kicks off at the Convention Center, Bill Cosby performs at Pier 6 (if he isn't out campaigning for Otis Rolley), and the Charm City Roller Girls close out their home season with a bout at Du Burns Arena. Members of School of Rock Baltimore pay tribute to MTV on Saturday (1 pm) at Bourbon Street and then shift gears for a tribute to "hipster rock" at 4 pm. Funny guy Martin Lawrence brings the laughs to 1st Mariner on Sunday.
