In her latest work, local artist Julia Kim Smith pokes a bit of fun at Banksy, his anonymous celebrity, and our changing notions of work, play, and art. She tweaks Shepard Fairey's iconic Obey image to similar effect. She'll be exhibiting both pieces later this month at Platoon Kunsthalle in Seoul, Korea. She's also just completed a video project, Ever After—a contemplative piece examining the post-9/11 mindset—with poet David Beaudouin.
