Everyman's production of Noel Coward's classic Private Lives opens this weekend and continues to December 4th. Espi Frazier's Many Faces of Beauty: Black and White Drawings opens this evening at Hamilton Gallery with a reception from 5 to 9 pm. Arc Baltimore's Art in the Round exhibition and silent auction, featuring work by artists with developmental and intellectual disabilities, takes place at AVAM from 7 to 10 pm.
Tomorrow, best-selling author Larry McMurtry receives the 2011 Pratt Lifetime Literary Achievement Award at the Central Library, the legendary Sweet Honey in the Rock performs with Choral Arts at Goucher's Kraushaar Auditorium, and indie supergroup Mister Heavenly (w/ members of Modest Mouse, Islands, and Man Man) plays Metro Gallery.
Sunday, Pro Musica Rara plays selections from Jane Austen's collection of music at Towson University. Tickets are $30, and the concert begins at 3:30 pm.
And if you're up for a drive to Frederick, writer Jason Tinney and artist Brian Slagle have collaborated on a fascinating exhibition, The Swinging Bridge: We Got Permission, at Frederick Community College. It features Slagle's mixed-media pieces enhanced in various ways by snippets of Tinney's "flash fiction." The opening reception is Saturday, from 5 to 7 pm.
