What to Do? What to Do?

unsilent night

The tribute to Nancy Haragan takes place at the BMA at 6:30 pm. Haragan, who passed away earlier this week, founded the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance and impacted the local arts scene in many positive ways.

Tonight, Erykah Badu makes a rare club appearance at Rams Head Live, local filmmaker Matt Porterfield hosts a screening of Andy Warhol's Chelsea Girls at the Creative Alliance, and Night of 100 Elvises starts its two-night run at the Lithuanian Hall on Hollins Street.

Tomorrow night, the annual Unsilent Night boombox holiday parade starts at the Pratt's Southeast Anchor Library (Highlandtown) at 4:45 pm, the Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra plays An die Musik (the venue's electrical troubles have apparently been fixed!), Maryland Traditions' ALTA Awards (featuring the likes of Chuck Brown, Phil Wiggins, and Warner Williams) will be held at Montgomery County College, and a celebration of piano innovators kicks off at Windup Space with Dave Burrell and Lafayette Gilchrist on Saturday and Marilyn Crispell and Burrell on Sunday.

And don't forget that the Pratt's annual book sale takes place all weekend at the Central Library!
