What piece of art changed your life? How did it affect you?
I enjoy the work of Dali, Gaudi, Vermeer, Beethoven, Bach, but I have been most changed by Marzette Watts. He is a relatively unknown painter and musician. I have had access to works of his that no one—other than his loved ones—has seen or heard. His work resonates with me more than any other. It calms me by setting things right, internally; like correcting a bubble within this "opposite day."
Grammy-winning r&b performer Van Hunt transforms restless creativity into thrilling moments, both onstage and on disc. His latest, What Were You Hoping For?, qualifies as his strongest effort to date, which bodes well for Wednesday night's Soundstage show.
