OrchKids Collaboration at Peabody

Monday afternoon, participants in the BSO's OrchKids program rehearsed at Griswold Hall with students from Baltimore School for the Arts, New Song Academy, City Neighbors High School, and Peabody Conservatory, and visiting artists from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. They're working on an original piece that they'll perform tomorrow afternoon, 3 pm, at City Neighbors. If you think city school kids can't follow directions or get interested in anything that doesn't involve hip-hop or video games, watch the video and think again. Peabody/OrchKids faculty member Jill Collier led much of the session, supported by Guildhall's Ross McDouall (drums), Sam Mumford (guitar), and Heather Truesdall (vocals).
