What piece of art changed your life? How did it affect you?
I was in Barcelona last summer and went to the Joan Miró museum. I'd never been a huge fan of his, but the museum was excellent—it spanned his whole career, and you could really see his growth as an artist. The colors were outstanding. I bought a book of postcards from the gift shop with all his different paintings on them and hung them up all around my writing studio. Now, I stare at them while I write new songs.
Maryland native Eric Hutchinson has a new record, Moving Up Living Down, out on Warner Brothers. He was on Conan last night, and he'll be at Rams Head Live on June 27th.
