Up-and-coming Brazilian conductor Alexandra Arrieche has been chosen to receive this year's BSO-Peabody Conducting Fellowship. She will start a one-year artist diploma program at Peabody next month and receive a full scholarship to the conservatory. Arrieche won last year's Taki Concordia Fellowship, which was founded by BSO Music Director Marin Alsop, who's been mentoring Arrieche in Baltimore and Sao Paolo.
