Is it me, or does it seem like David Simon's Treme doesn't get the love and attention it deserves? It was like that for The Wire, too, before the show earned iconic status in the years since it aired. Anyway, I was reminded of that when I came across a Q&A with Treme actress Melissa Leo in today's New York Times Magazine. Cool, I thought. Season Three of Treme starts next week, and they're giving the show a nod. Wrong. The Times saw fit to mention Leo's new film, Francine, and the Oscar she won for The Fighter, but they didn't mention the HBO show at all. And the smart money says Emmy nominations will elude the Treme cast, just as they did The Wire's.
