It's Mencken Day, so celebrate accordingly. I'd suggest drinking a beer and reading a bit of Heathen Days.
Tonight, you can preview MOBTOWNMoon—a track-by-track tribute to the Pink Floyd classic by some of Baltimore's finest—at the Creative Alliance. Hats off to Sandy Asirvatham and Ellen Cherry for tackling such an ambitious project. And it's not too late to catch some of the Rosslyn Jazz Festival near D.C. The free fest features the likes of Joshua Redman and Don Byron!
Tomorrow, the Amaranthine Museum, featuring the work of visionary artist Les Harris, reopens after a summer hiatus, and The Found Footage Festival, a "celebration of odd and hilarious found videos," lights up the Creative Alliance in the evening. If you need a jolt of hilarity—and who doesn't?—check out Found Footage.
