May 29th, 2009br>Very Long Phishbr>By John Lewis |
Yawn. In a previous post, Phish's Trey Anastasio characterized Time Turns Elastic, the piece he recently performed with the BSO, as "sort of a long Phish song." Now, it's exactly that. Actually, it's more than that; it's a very long Phish song, clocking in at more than 13 minutes, and you can check it out at iTunes. I can only hope that the full orchestra version was more compelling and nuanced.

Compelling and nuanced? HELLO! This is Phish we're talking about.
I think a bumper sticker I saw a few years ago said it best - "Jerry's dead, Phish sucks, get a job".
this article makes me yawn..
i agree with no homo.
Paul and John, you guys are being a little closed-minded, no? I've just been surfing the 'net after a first listen, trying to get a feel for the general opinion about what's definitely not one of my favorite Phish tracks. Still, implying that it ISN'T subtle and nuanced is a little bit unfair. If anything, it's a collage of nuances. I still don't know if I think that makes it a strong track, but it's far from a strraight-forward throwaway.
Ugh, they just started singing again...
