So 2013 was the year it kind of all came together—the year Baltimore “stopped being polite and started getting real,” to borrow a phrase. We’re not sure whether it was our explosion of locavore-minded cafes and food trucks, our proliferation of defiantly weird local art and artists, or our amazing (booyah!) sports teams—but Baltimore suddenly felt like the place to be. And not in a trendy, flavor-of-the-month kind of way, either. Just in a, well, Baltimore way. We hope our Best-of issue reflects that “realness.” And we’re happy to share the Best-ofs from the brilliant cast and crew of Veep—who’ve noticed how awesome we are, too.
