As Artscape fully spreads its wings into Station North this year, Station North Arts & Entertainment has announced it will be offering free, guided bicycle tours this weekend of its unique Open Walls street art project.
Curated by Gaia, one of Baltimore’s renown street artists, the recently completed Open Walls project brought together local, national, and international street artists, creating 22 murals designed to brighten public spaces, spark dialogue and revitalization, as well as pull visitors and potential investors to the burgeoning arts district.

In an email, Ben Stone, Station North’s executive director, said tours are scheduled twice daily this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Tours will meet at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the corner of N. Charles and E. Lanvale Streets. Each ride will be capped at 25 people and will last about 30-45 minutes.
Baltimore Bicycle Works will bring along a few bikes for people to borrow on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Stone and Rebecca Chan, Station North’s project manager, will lead the tours, and Stone said the hope that is that Gaia will join the tours for one or more of the rides.
In partnership with the University of Baltimore, Artscape will again provide secured bike parking this year at the corner of Maryland and Mount Royal Avenues.
America’s largest free outdoor arts festival officially kicks off at 11 a.m. Friday. The Station North Stage moves into high gear early Friday evening with two awesome local bands, Big in Japan, featuring Katrina Ford, at 6:30 p.m., and Arbouretum at 8 p.m.
