Maryland bicyclists can now show support for two-wheel, human-powered transportation while using their second-favorite mode of transport: the car.
Bike Maryland recently joined the Motor Vehicle Administration's organizational license plate program, using the new plate to promote cycling with the tagline, "My Other Car is a Bicycle"—while highlighting the state's 3-foot passing law.
The organizational license plate is available to Bike Maryland members with motorized vehicles at a cost of $25 per car.
Instructions and an application form for the license plate is available via Bike Maryland's website.
Also: Registration is now also open for the 20th Annual Tour du Port event Sept. 29 out of the Canton Waterfront Park in Baltimore. Registration is also open online for the fourth annual Larry's Ride, Sept. 15, in Baltimore County. Larry's Ride honors Larry Bensky, who was killed while riding his bike on Butler Road in Baltimore County. Both events are fundraisers for Bike Maryland.
