Swim Across America Fundraising Swims

The Baltimore-area will host two simultaneous fundraising swims: one an open-water swim from Gibson Island; the other is a pool swim at the Meadowbrook Aquatic and Fitness Center in Mt. Washington. Swimmers of all ages and skill levels will participate including Olympians Kate Ziegler, Janel Jorgensen, and Craig Beardsley. Michael Phelps will serve as the official starter at the open ocean swim and his swim school is offering participants a free, 16-week training program. Proceeds will benefit the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.

Both swims: 8 a.m.

Price: $500-3,000 for ocean swim. $125-250 for pool swim.
