Roland Park and Kernewood, MD
We've all done it, passed by a stately home and channeled "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" wondering, "How does your garden grow?" Now is your chance to find out as the Horticultural Society of Maryland hosts its 22nd Annual Garden Tour on June 2, rain or shine. Each year, the society picks a locale to highlight. Last year saw the spotlight turned on the city's western hamlets of Dickeyville and Historic Franklintown. This year's tour, titled Scents in the City, will explore nine gardens at peak bloom in the neighborhoods of Roland Park and nearby Kernewood. The gardens present a range of styles, from formal to whimsical, and many feature special masonry and architectural details as well. Tickets are available online and at several local businesses including Graul's Markets, Green Fields Nursery & Landscaping Company, and Watson's Garden Center. Tickets can also be purchased for an extra $5 at the first garden on the day of the tour.
