Cafe Hon owner Denise Whiting came into the studio of Mix 106.5 this morning with Gordon Ramsay, host of Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares," and announced that she would give up her controversial trademark of the word Hon. "It was never mine to have in the first place," she said, with tears in her eyes. "I am so sorry for the animosity and the hatred and everything that trademarking a word has done."
Ramsay has been in town this week to shoot an episode of his show in Cafe Hon, and apparently convinced Whiting that the trademark was not worth the negative impact on her business and her reputation. "I don't think Denise quite understood the ramifications," Ramsay said. "It's caused turmoil beyond belief."
