Adam Meister (left), the Examiner.com columnist who won "Best Rabble Rouser" is our current Best of Baltimore issue, is at it again.
Meister won the prize for, among other things, raising a stink about documents filed by 7th District City Councilwoman Belinda Conaway that claimed a Baltimore County house as a her primary residence. Today, Conaway dropped her $21 million defamation lawsuit against Meister, admitting that she had, in fact, claimed the Baltimore County address as her primary residence. She said the filing was a mistake.
The Sun's detailed report of the proceedings is hysterical and worth a read, particularly for sections like this:
"[Conaway's lawyer] Maronick said she had signed the document by mistake years ago and did not see it again until after filing the lawsuit in May.
'We did not actually see that document initially,' Maronick told the judge.
Meister, sitting in the gallery, could be seen mouthing, 'It's on the Internet.'"
Mesiter continued to mouth off to reporters after the hearing, stripping off his dress shirt to reveal a campaign t-shirt for Nick Mosby, who is running against Conaway for the 7th District Council seat.
“I want to thank Belinda for suing me,” he said to reporters. “If it were not for your frivolous lawsuit, you would have zero primary opponents, and nobody would have known about your house in Randallstown."
