Om, my! Yoga with Ravens Ricky Williams

ricky williamsPractice sun salutations, chanting, and more with Ravens running back Ricky Williams at a mass yogi gathering to benefit his foundation, a nonprofit that helps disadvantaged youth.

Williams will lead a yoga and meditation class at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Stevenson University in the Mustang Arena. Tickets cost $100, with proceeds going toward the Ricky Williams Foundation.

Charm City Yoga, a co-sponsor of the event, will have 18 of its top teachers assisting at the class, according to a recent newsletter.

The event also features a vendor village, raffles, and prizes.

Williams—a Heisman Trophy winner—turned to yoga, meditation, and holistic healing after failed drug tests and an early NFL retirement. He returned to the field and credits his yoga practice for gaining inner balance in all aspects of his life.

"It was better than being high, and longer lasting," he said in a 2009 New York Times story.
