Justin Tucker drilled four field goals, including a 50-yard blast and the 44-yard game winner, making a strong case for our Ravens Stud of the Week. (An alert Baltimore magazine reader, btw, spotted the kicker at Subway in Locust Point Saturday so now we expect to see him there every weekend for good luck.) But we went with the guy who promised his wife three sacks and delivered — and who we profiled in our September issue.
Week five stud:
Suggs posted five solo tackles, second on the team after middle linebacker Daryl Smith, and three sacks — half of the Ravens' six sack total. He's registered seven QB takedowns in five games already and is having a monster comeback year after serious heel and bicep injuries a season ago.
T-Sizzle took over the game as few defensive players can in the fourth quarter. Personal favorite yesterday: After twice beating Miami's left tackle with his outside speed, Suggs earned the sack hat trick with a bull rush from the other side, collapsing the pocket and pulling down QB Ryan Tannehill with one arm.
Suggs said to reporters after the game that his wife Candace wanted him to bring three sacks back with him from South Florida. “She told me to bring mama home three sacks, and it came down the stretch in the fourth quarter, and I was like, ‘Alright, mama said she wanted three sacks, so I gave her three."
