This honor might actually be past due. A couple of weeks ago in Miami, this guy made several clutch plays, including the game-winner. Yesterday, he again accounted for most of the Ravens' offense. Okay, that's not saying a lot, but while the Ravens' offense continues to struggle, this undrafted former University of Texas Longhorn is putting together a strong sophomore campaign.
Week Four stud:
Kicker Justin Tucker
Three for three versus Pittsburgh, including blasts from 46, 38, and 32 yards.
The onside kick attempt. It didn't work out, one, because another Raven was offsides, and two, because Tucker was flagged for touching the ball just short of 10 yards, but the 181-pounder WENT AFTER IT and took a big shot in the head from a Steeler linebacker trying to make a play. In the lockeroom afterward, he didn't make excuses and said he loved the aggressive call.
Tucker had a huge season last year after beating out (thankfully) incumbent Billy Cundiff during training camp, missing just three kicks as a rookie, including several clutch field goals in the playoffs and Super Bowl. This year he's 15 of 17 and one of the few bright lights on the offensive side of the ball.
