Hey! We're not giving up on this season. Not yet. Sure, Sunday was a terrible loss to Cleveland, a team the Ravens had beaten 11 straight times, but division-leading Cincinnati is coming into town next weekend. Now that's a must-win game. Let's hope this guy, an undrafted rookie, makes some more plays like he did yesterday...
Week Nine Stud:
Five catches for 54 yards, including two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Basically, he was the Ravens' offense.
With Ravens trailing 14-3 and the offense hapless for nearly the entire first half, Brown's catch, run, and head-long dive into the end zone with 14 seconds before intermission got the team back into the game.
After catching his second touchdown, a 7-yarder, early in the fourth quarter, Brown made a tough overhead grab in traffic at the goal line for a two-point conversion that pulled the Ravens within three points at 21-18. For the year, Brown now ranks third on the team in receptions (26) and second in receiving yardage (297). And his five TD catches are more than twice that of next closet Raven. Pretty impressive numbers for the undrafted rookie from Georgia, especially considering he sat out the Buffalo game with a hamstring injury. He may not have Torrey Smith's speed, but he's big, finds ways to get open, and he's got strong hands.
In an interview after the game, Brown told reporters he feels like he's improving every day in practice and "the sky is the limit."
