Despite another heartbreaking loss, this week's "Ravens Stud of the Week" was an easy pick. In the midst of a frustrating season, this fan favorite finally returned to form. Let's hope it lasts and his performance against the league's second-worst running defense wasn't merely an aberration.
Week 12 Stud:
A touchdown, 131 yards rushing on 25 carries, and three catches for 17 yards.
Rice's first carry of the game—a simple handoff and dart through a lane on the near sideline— went for 47 yards. By itself, that run would've topped his rushing totals in nearly every other game this season. The play set the tone for a much-needed big day on the ground.
Rice's ensuing short touchdown run looked easy because of the great blocking upfront, but he also showed patience, reading the play before popping outside for an untouched score. However, what really clinched this pick for us was Rice's fourth-quarter performance. He appeared to be getting stronger as the game progressed and made a couple of key late runs on draw plays behind center Gino Gradkowski.
