Brothers Tim and Mike Murphy want you to eat more burgers. They're not shy about it either, making their carnivorous demands everywhere from their menu to their website eatmoreburgers.com. Fortunately, the duo behind Towson's aptly named Burger Bros. (14 Allegheny Ave., 410-321-1880) is willing to step up and provide the meat in question.
Their menu sticks to the basics, offering classic burgers, hot dogs, wings (both traditional and boneless), chicken sandwiches, and a handful of salads, along with sides like fries and onion rings. The wings are crisp and spicy, the chicken is tender, and the fries will transport you to a mid-summer's evening on the Ocean City boardwalk. But the burgers ($4.99-5.99) are the real attraction.
Made fresh with beef that's ground in-house, grilled to order, and served on a brioche bun, Burger Bros.'s burgers have a charred, smoky flavor and juicy goodness that's a treat to find—be sure to stock up on napkins before taking a bite. The restaurant doesn't have a liquor license, but they serve fresh-squeezed lemonade that hits just the right spot between sweet and tart (and an interestingly named Arnold Palmer, an iced-tea-and-lemonade blend).
Burger Bros. has already developed quite a following. Get there early to avoid crowds, grab a table in the small but bright dining area, and settle in to enjoy the happy vibe—and, of course to eat more burgers.
