Let’s face it. Your haircut is only part of the reason you look so darn good when you leave the salon. The other part is that your stylist blow-dries your hair a lot better than you do. That’s where Hot Air comes in. The salon—owned by Joy Robinson Singer and Kate Taylor—focuses on perfecting blow outs in under an hour, with eight styles (at $35 each), ranging from straight and sleek to beachy with a braid. Hot Air, which is modeled after the popular Dry Bar franchise, “allows women a quick, easy option so they can feel they look great every day,” says Taylor. It’s like the salon experience in miniature, with a clean and modern setting—white quartz bars and chairs paired with a vintage tufted sofa—along with complimentary Champagne, wine, sparkling water, or tea. “Kate and I are hoping that the environment we have created will get women out of their homes and make Hot Air a habit,” says Singer. Owings Mills resident Cristina Ginsberg, a busy, working mother, is already a fan. “It’s nice to know that all I need to do is go to the salon and have a professional blow out to leave feeling like a supermodel,” she says.
