Wegmans Food Markets and Baltimore Coffee & Tea Co. are both in the mood for Valentine’s Day—but in terms of showing a little love to the needy. Wegmans is delivering 18,700 pounds of nonperishable groceries to the Maryland Food Bank tomorrow (Feb. 11) with employees from the Hunt Valley store volunteering to unload the goods.
The products are much needed. "Right now our shelves are bare because we are distributing more food than we ever have before," said Deborah Flateman, CEO of the food bank, in a press release.
Baltimore Coffee & Tea is also on board with helping the food bank. Its shops in Timonium, Annapolis, and Frederick are offering a free medium cup of coffee on Friday (Feb. 13) and Saturday (Feb. 14) to any customer who makes an in-store donation of a canned food item for the Maryland Food Bank.
What a wonderful Valentine gift.
