Kinkead’s in our nation's capital will dock in our Colonial capital in April with a more casual version, says Washington Post’s Tom Sietsema, one of my favorite restaurant critics, in today’s paper. The seafood restaurant, which recently was ranked number 12 in Washingtonian’s top 100 restaurants, will take over a waterfront spot (12 Dock St.) once occupied by Phillips Seafood.
According to Tom’s report, the new place will be called Hell Point Seafood (after the neighborhood’s old name) and will be less expensive and less formal than its Washington big brother. A friend of mine says she’s really hoping Kinkead’s fried clams will be on the new menu.
