Are you ready for some football—food, that is? When the Ravens take on the Patriots this Sunday, you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is having fun watching the game.
I found this easy recipe for spicy wings years ago. You can make up the sauce ahead of time, then bake the wings, basting them at the appropriate time. No messing with a grill or hot oil.
Serve the wings with the traditional cut-up celery and blue-cheese dressing if you like. You can make your own dressing, but I found Marie’s brand (usually in the produce section) is a quick substitute.
Enjoy the wings. Go Ravens!
Spicy Chicken Wings
2 pounds chicken wing drumettes, about 16 pieces
¾ cup ketchup
2 teaspoons instant minced onion
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard
1 teaspoon McCormick Hot Shot! Pepper Blend
½ teaspoon chile powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line bottom and sides of a 15-inch-by-10-inch baking pan with aluminum foil. Arrange drumettes in a single layer on foil. Bake in preheated oven 15 minutes.
Place remaining ingredients in small bowl and stir well to combine. Brush half of sauce over drumettes and bake 15 minutes.
Turn drumettes over and brush with remaining sauce. Bake 15 minutes or until done.
Remove to serving dish with tongs and serve immediately (with plenty of napkins).
