Restaurants are gearing up for a multi-day celebration. I’m going to Miss Shirley’s on Monday night. Where are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? Here are some places to consider.
Miss Shirley’s Cafe, both locations, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 14, three-course, prix-fixe meal, $49 a person. It’s the only day of the year they serve dinner. It’s a great place for me since I don’t have to be incognito. After all, I gave birth to the chef! She knows me pretty well.
B&O American Brasserie, Feb. 12-14. Special, share-worthy dishes with a selection of desserts, including The Chocolate Elvis, which won first place for the most creative use of chocolate at the recent Chocolate Affair event. It’s made with banana-bread pain perdu, peanut-butter mousse, smoked-bacon-and-banana jam, and dark chocolate shavings. Whoa!
Charleston, Feb. 14, multi-course, tasting dinner, $109 a person or $159 with accompanying wines.
Cinghiale, Feb. 14, multi-course, prix-fixe Italian dinner, $76 a person or $116 with accompanying wines.
