Join in the fun at this annual celebration of home winemaking on Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at Our Lady of Pompei Convent Garden. The Highlandtown Wine Festival features a homemade wine competition, wine tastings, lots of food, a bocce tournament, and live music.
The cost is $25 ($20 in advance) for ages 21 and older. Admission includes five complimentary wine tastings of homemade wine, including Highlandtown Red and Bel Air Zin; a souvenir wine glass; and a goody bag with coupons and discounts from local restaurants and retailers. Proceeds help support the Highlandtown community.
Beer lovers aren't left out. Laughing Pint will offer beer for sale.
There will also be complimentary antipasti, and DiPasquale's will be selling meatball subs, sausage and peppers, pasta, cannolis, and their specialty—arancine (rice croquettes stuffed with cheese, vegetables, and/or meat).
Children and teens can attend for free when accompanied by an adult. Of course, no wine for them.
