The Baltimore Burger Bar is actually an evolution of Puffs & Pastries in Hampden and will be located in the same spot as the bakery. Chef/owner Anisha Jagtap is simply taking her cooking skills in a different direction.
"I'm trained as a chef," she explained this afternoon on the phone. "I'm changing the concept."
The new rendition opens on Saturday with a menu of burgers featuring local, high-quality organic ingredients and a soy-based vegetarian version.
Anisha calls the concept fast-casual and said it will be in the style of food trucks since there's no place to sit in the tiny space. Her dream is to open a full-service restaurant in the future.
At BBB, she will be offering cupcakes, cookies, and ice cream, but "I'm weaning off pastry production here," she said. She is still honoring Groupon coupons and doing special orders.
A website is in the works, but check out Anisha's blog for more information and the opening-week menu.
Items include grass-fed beef and sesame salmon burgers, toppings like Vidalia onion jam and tomato Thai basil salad, and sauces like strawberry rhubarb ketchup and arugula almond pesto.
Yum!
