New hot-dog place in Canton

dog barThe Dog Bar opened on Saturday, serving hot dogs, sausages, brats, and fresh-fruit milkshakes. The Natty Boh Brat Wurz on the menu sounds interesting.

The new restaurant is operated by Steve and Bethann Heintzelman, who opened the tapas/piano bar Te Amo in the spring. (Read how the couple met in an earlier post.) The two eateries are across from each other on O'Donnell Street.

Other Dog Bar menu items include a Baltimore build-your-own dog, a South of the Border dog, a Windy City Dog, and an Old Bay Sausage. Condiments include sauerkraut, Coney Island sauce, mango salsa, pork BBQ, and lots more.

I can't wait to try one of the shakes. Flavors include pineapple, blueberry, chocolate, and vanilla. There are root-beer floats, too.
